Pair of Fine Japanese Cloisonné Vases


This exquisite pair of Japanese Cloisonné enamel vases crafted during the later half of the 19th century. The vases are hexagonal-shaped baluster form and each has 6 reserves of enameled land and waterscape scenes featuring various birds amidst naturalistically rendered foliage. The ground also features intricate floral, scroll and geometric motifs. Both marked on the underside with a Cloisonné wire design featuring three small equidistantly spaced circles within a larger. Chinese Agate Vase, Bird and Squirrel


This gorgeous vase with cover was carved in China from carnelian agate circa 1850. The vase is flattened urn form and features openly carved berry, vine and leaf decorations on the exterior. The cover is decorated similarly with openwork branches and berries as well as a bird and squirrel. The vase measures 7.75 inches total height. (cr09)
