This exquisite pair of Japanese Cloisonné enamel vases crafted during the later half of the 19th century. The vases are hexagonal-shaped baluster form and each has 6 reserves of enameled land and waterscape scenes featuring various birds amidst naturalistically rendered foliage. The ground also features intricate floral, scroll and geometric motifs. Both marked on the underside with a Cloisonné wire design featuring three small equidistantly spaced circles within a larger.
