Majestic foo dog with young sculpture on gilt-painted, wood pedestal by famous New York designer, Edward Farmer (mid-20th century). Rock crystal carved in China. Condition: stone very good with natural flaws, small splits on interior wood corners, though stand fundamentally sound. Dimensions: foo dog 11″ height, on stand 13.75″ high. (4808-cr)
Oval form, embossed with winged angel heads, lion masks, wheatsheafs and scythes to the border + trailing grape vine on textured ground to the frieze, pierced foot rim with overhead handle by John Hamilton (Dublin 1737). Provenance: The Cummins Family of Belmont, Monte Notte, Co. Cork and thence by descent to a New Zealand branch of the family. Subsequently purchased by our firm. Condition: very good. Nouveau-style set includes coffee pot, teapot, creamer, covered sugar bowl on lightly spot-hammered tray in the classic “Blossom” pattern, wood handles. Made in Copenhagen, Denmark post-1945 by Georg Jensen. Condition: normal wear commensurate with age, some scratches on tray. Each piece fully marked on bottom.
