Pair of Chinese Cloisonné Birds

These two birds are composed of metal, though nearly all the surfaces are enameled, except for the molded feet. The technique is grounded in many small fields of Cloisonné wire representing the feather textures. The bodies are then painted in Cloisonné-style enamel with shades of white, blue, black, green and red. Each bird measures approximately 7 inches length by 5.5 inches height. (cc-03)
